'Largest' Seoul Rally Calls for President Park's Ouster
Hundreds of thousands of people reportedly turned out in Seoul on Saturday, November 12, to demand the resignation of President Park Geun-hye over suspicions that she allowed long-time confidante Choi Soon-sil manipulate power.
Some 25,000 police officers were deployed in what is expected to be the largest rally in South Korea since its democratization.
Choi has been accused of meddling in state affairs and pressuring companies to fund her foundations, according to South Korean news media. Park has issued two public apologies over the scandal but her approval ratings remain at an all time low of five percent. Credit: Instagram/gaintour_lee via Storyful
