'Lucky' Norwegian Fisherman Rescued After Boat Lost in Rough Seas
The Norwegian Armed Forces said five fishermen who were rescued on Monday after their boat got into difficulty in the northeast were lucky to have survived. The boat hit rough seas at the isolated coastal point of Lofotodden and was turned 90 degrees in strong winds and five-meter high waves, the armed forces said. It was believed the boat was close to going under, as the five crew members were hoisted aboard a Sea King helicopter.
The armed forces said in a statement that rescue missions were “rarely as dramatic as this,” and that all men were transported to hospital with minor injuries. “Not everyone is as lucky,” the statement read. Credit: YouTube/Forsvaret
