NASA Camera Captures the Sun Unleashing a Huge Solar Flare
The sun ejected a massive X-class solar flare that interfered with high-frequency radio transmissions on March 11. The flare was the largest to emerge from Active Region 12297 of the sun, which has produced a series of smaller bursts. An X-class solar flare is classified as having the strongest intensity, and the X2.2 flare on March 11 was accompanied with a coronal mass ejection.
