Nation pays homage to Indira Gandhi on her death anniversary

The nation is today paying homage to former prime minister Indira Gandhi on her death anniversary. President Pranab Mukherjee, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and other dignitaries paid floral tributes at her memorial-- Shakti Sthal-- in the national capital. Indira Gandhi, who was the prime minister of the country from 1966 to 1976 and again from 1980 to 1984, was assassinated by two of her Sikh bodyguards at her residence on October 31, 1984.
