Reason for alleged assault at mall unclear

Assault charges are pending against a man who police said sprayed someone he knew with some sort of substance at Towson Town Center. The reason for the alleged assault Tuesday night remains unclear, but police said they believe it's some sort of personal issue between the suspect and the victim. The exact type of chemical spray has yet to be determined, but investigators don't think it's tear gas, as they initially believed. Initial reports called the incident a hazardous materials release.
