Referendum Settled Scottish Question, Cameron Says, a Year On
Speaking a year after the historic Scottish independence referendum, British Prime Minister David Cameron said that the vote should have settled the Scottish question. His comments came as Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, of the secessionist SNP, was due to outline triggers for a second referendum in her party’s election manifesto.
“Our manifesto will set out what we think around the circumstances in which, and the possible timescales in which, a second referendum might be appropriate,” Sturgeon told the Herald Scotland newspaper.
