Schools and Houses Damaged in Artillery Shelling in Eastern Ukraine as Evacuations Continue
Artillery shelling and skirmishes in eastern Ukraine’s Luhansk Oblast led to several combatant deaths and the damaging of numerous civilian buildings, including a school and several houses, in Trokhizbenka on February 1.
The incessant shelling on residential areas has forced a number of local residents to evacuate westwards over the past 48 hours.
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe for Ukraine released a statement on February 1 expressing its “deep concern” for the intensified violence around Avdiivka, where this video was captured, and reminded both sides to adhere to the Minsk ceasefire agreement, which called for the withdrawal of heavy weaponry from a mutually agreed exclusion zone.
