Tanks, Armored Vehicles Arrive in Poland as US Army Increases Presence

US Army troops, tanks and other armored vehicles arrived in Poland on January 10 as part of a deployment designed to reassure NATO allies of US “dedication to enduring peace and stability in the region in light of Russia’s intervention in Ukraine.”

Speaking about the deployment, Lt Col Stephen Capeheart spoke about where the military resources would go from Poland.

We will “conduct our movement north into the Baltic states,” Capeheart said. “First Battalion 68th Armored [Regiment] will operate in Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia. There we will continue to work with our allied partners … to deter any threat against the NATO alliance.” Credit: DVIDS via Storyful
