Texas Flood Derails Union Pacific Train

Flood water washed out a section of tracks and triggered a train derailment on October 24 near Corsicana, Texas. This footage shows the scene, including the train on its side. The two crew members on the Union Pacific freight train swam to higher ground and then were rescued by Navarro County emergency responders, according to local media. The train, which was traveling south, was carrying gravel.

Up to 20 inches of rain fell on parts of Navarro County on Friday and Saturday, triggering widespread flooding. The storm system combined with the remnants of Hurricane Patricia on Sunday, dumping more rain and kicking up high winds in the southeast area of the state. Credit: Facebook/Nathan Moore
