Three-Month-Old Baby Hears for the First Time

Tiny Jordan did not have an easy start to life, so when he was fitted with hearing aids, the sweetest sound was his own mother’s voice for the first time.

Jordan was born with hearing loss and failed his newborn hearing tests in hospital.

Mum Taryn told Storyful: “We were then referred to an ENT and audiologist to then confirm the loss as hearing loss runs on my side of the family. He then got bronchiolitis at three weeks old and ended up in hospital for nine nights and this caused fluid build up in his ears.”

“In his short life we have already been to 22 appointments as well as hospital and most of this time screaming and him in pain so you can imagine it was lovely to go to this appointment as see him laughing and cooing like a ‘normal’ baby should.” Credit: Taryn Blair
