Typhoon Nepartak Causes Destruction Across Taiwan
At least two people were reported to have died and at least 66 were injured as Super Typhoon Nepartak brought strong winds and heavy rain to several areas in Taiwan on Friday, July 8.
The typhoon made landfall in south-east Taiwan in the early morning. According to the Weather Channel, 15,400 people were evacuated from various areas and around 390,000 homes were affected by power cuts. Nepartak was reported to be one of the strongest typhoons to hit Taiwan in decades.
