Video: Why is there only one ballot scanner?
Voters in a number of Maryland precincts faced challenges casting their ballots on Election Day. Despite some issues, elections officials are giving the paper ballots high marks, but voters who waited in excess of two hours to vote Tuesday night might disagree. In some Baltimore County polling places, more than 200 people were in line when the polls closed at 8 p.m. It turned out interest in the election alone was not the sole reason for long lines. Many voters said they wondered why there was only one ballot-scanning machine available.
