Workers at Mount Washington Observatory 'Play' in Strong Winds

Employees at the Mount Washington Observatory in New Hampshire took a break from work on March 9 to play in what they said were wind gust speeds of more than 100 mph.

This video shows one worker holding a flag, “used to help visualize the winds,” as they try to walk against the wind, and repeatedly getting knocked to the ground.

Between 1934 and 1996, Mount Washington held the record for the fastest wind gust ever recorded on Earth: 231 mph, recorded on April 12, 1934. Credit: Mount Washington Observatory via Storyful
