Walker Scobell lands lead role in Disney+ 'Percy Jackson' series

'Variety' reports that 'The Adam Project' star will play Percy Jackson, a 12-year-old demigod. in the series adaptation of the books written by Rick Riordan. The series premise sees Percy trying to get a hold of his newfound superpowers as Zeus accuses him of stealing his lightning bolt. The young demigod then goes on a quest to find the lightning bolt to make everything right with Olympus. 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians' will be written by Riordan and Jon Steinberg.
