'Brave' Goldfinch Rides Out Storm Nasim's Rough Winds

A goldfinch bravely endured the harsh winds of Storm Nasim, gripping onto a bird feeder in Elbingerode in Germany’s Saxony-Anhalt region on April 7.

Photographer G Matthias Schuler captured the smalls bird’s determined effort after noticing it from inside his home. He called it “brave” in text accompanying the footage as he posted it online.

“At midday I looked out of the window at our bird feeders and saw this little goldfinch holding on bravely in the midst of the squalls, a reason to immediately grab the camera,” Schuler said. Credit: G Matthias Schüler via Storyful
