Brazil to require proof of vaccination for Rio's Sambadrome parade

STORY: The measure was announced during a news conference of the Rio carnival planning council where Rio de Janeiro's Public Order Secretary, Brenno Carnevale, made clear that people "are not prohibited from going outside.”

Rio's carnival was cancelled in 2021 due to the global health crisis.

The public holiday this year will not coincide with the colourful samba school parade, originally held in February in the 'Sambodromo,' or Sambadrome, which has been postponed to April 20th.
