Death Toll in Cuba Hotel Blast Rises to 26

The number of confirmed deaths in a suspected gas explosion at a hotel in Havana, Cuba, was raised to 26 on Saturday, May 7, as authorities continued to sift through the rubble less than a day after the blast, local media reported.

According to Cubadebate, Havana city officials on Saturday said four children and a pregnant woman were among the dead, and of 45 people taken to hospital with injuries, nine were in critical condition.

This footage, captured by Havana resident Ramon Eduardo Blanco Rodríguez, shows ongoing search-and-rescue efforts at the site on Saturday, and the battered remains of a small bus that got caught in the blast.
