Erdogan Opens Ukraine-Russia Talks in Istanbul
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan opened a new round of talks between Ukrainian and Russian negotiators in Istanbul on March 29.
The talks are the latest between the two sides aimed at ending Russia’s military operation in Ukraine.
Erdogan said the coming together of the delegations was a reason for hope, according to a translation.
The negotiations come after reports that a Ukrainian delegation including Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich suffered the effects of suspected poisoning after a previous meeting earlier this month. Credit: Recep Tayyip Erdogan via Storyful
