Everglades Brush Fires Grow to Over 23,000 Acres
Three wildfires in South Florida’s Everglades had grown to a combined size of 23,500 acres (approximately 37 square miles) on Saturday, May 7, the Florida Forest Service reported.
Officials said the three wildfires in Palm Beach and Broward counties, which were among 36 active wildfires in the state, had been sparked by lightning, according to WPBF 25#.
This footage showing fires near Coral Springs in Broward County was produced by Vice City Drone Works, who said it was shot on May 6.
