Overseas Filipino Workers Who Died of Coronavirus Honored at Manila Repatriation Ceremony
Officials held a “heroes’ welcome ceremony” at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila, Philippines, on July 19 for Filipino workers who died abroad, many of which had coronavirus, the country’s Department of Health said.
At least 71 bodies were brought back to the Philippines from Saudi Arabia, with at least 40 of them being coronavirus cases, according to the Philippines Department of Health.
