German zoo animals try to stay cool in heatwave

STORY: Pigs and alpacas were showered with sprinklers and water hoses one Wednesday (August 3) while aquatic animals such as seals and penguins spend more time in the water. Temperatures reached 33 degrees Celsius (91 degrees Fahrenheit) in Frankfurt on Wednesday.

The zoo installed awnings for some of its animals. The zoo had welcomed a new addition to its seal exhibit on Saturday (July 30), with a new-born seal.
