Hundreds of Elk Cross Road in Rural Oregon
A video shared by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife on March 4 showed the moment an estimated 700 elk crossed a road in the Grande Ronde Valley in Union County.
The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife wrote that March is one of the most challenging months for wildlife due to extreme weather, and this year it’s worse than ever “due to the prolonged winter and heavy snow.” The department asked visitors to areas containing wildlife to respect the animals’ boundaries and any range closures in place.
