Increased Lava Flow as La Palma Volcano Cone Partially Collapses

The cone of the Cumbre Vieja volcano on the Spanish island of La Palma partially collapsed on October 3, resulting in thicker lava flow.

The Canary Islands Volcanology Institute (Involcan) reported a “clear increase” in effusive activity.
