Indian Muslims mark Ramadan’s last Friday with prayer
STORY: Known as the 'Jumat-ul-Vida', this day marks the last Friday prayer of the holy fasting month of Ramadan.
"The whole country is celebrating Jumat-ul-Vida grandly by offering prayers at mosques across the country. We have prayed for peace, and prosperity in the country and the success of our countrymen," said Muslim cleric Khalid Rasheed Firangi Mahali.
Ramadan is considered to be the holy month of fasting in Islam before marking the festival of Eid al-Fitr, which will be celebrated this year across the world on May 2-3 depending on moon sighting.
