India's first Apple retail store to open in Mumbai
STORY: India has become a big market for the Cupertino, California-based company, which launched an online retail store in the world's second-largest smartphone market in 2020.
Due to its high prices, Apple has only a 3% share of India's smartphone market.
The store will be opened on Tuesday (April 18) ahead of which reporters and bloggers were allowed access to the store where a variety of Apple products were put on display.
Deidre O'Brien, Apple's Senior Vice President for Retail and People said: "We are thrilled to be opening our first store in India. We could not be more excited."
"At Apple, we like to say that the best of Apple comes together in retail. We work really hard to grant amazing experiences for our customers here and since our first opening of our Apple store online here in India, we have been able to make really meaningful connections with our customers all across the country."
