Line of Buses Stuck on Vancouver Bridge as Winter Storm Disrupts Traffic

Vancouver’s transportation authority urged people to stay home if possible on January 15 as a severe winter storm brought widespread travel disruption to the city.

TransLink said Wednesday was an extreme travel day, warning some SkyTrain stations were closed and some bus routes were completely canceled.

Footage shared on social media shows buses stalled on Vancouver’s Granville Street Bridge and the surrounding areas as people walk through the snow.

Environment Canada said a snowfall warning remained in effect for parts of Metro Vancouver on Wednesday afternoon, with up to an additional 10 cm (about 4 inches) of snow expected in some areas. Credit: Trevor C via Storyful
