Long Lines at Gatwick Airport as Jubilee Long Weekend Begins

Passengers faced long queues in Gatwick Airport in England on Thursday, June 2, as thousands took advantage of the Platinum Jubilee long weekend.

Video filmed by Jamie Kristian shows the line early on Thursday morning. Kristian said the line moved fast, but recommended flyers get to the airport two or three hours ahead of their flights.

Gatwick said the airport was “operating normally” but was busy. The airport said it advised passengers to arrive three hours ahead of long-haul flights, and two or two-and-a-half hours ahead of short-haul. Credit: Jamie Kristian via Storyful
