'Manifest' Star Melissa Roxburgh Shares Bittersweet Netflix News With Fans

NBC may have canceled Manifest, but the supernatural drama is now setting new records.

A month after the network announced that the series was not getting picked up for a fourth season, fans are continuing to try to save the show. Meanwhile, their efforts haven't gone unnoticed — on July 9, Manifest actress Melissa Roxburgh, who played Michaela Stone, took a moment to thank fans for throwing all of their support behind the show.

“3 days from breaking records! Ah! Thanks again for this fandom! @NBCManifest #savemanifest,” she wrote on Twitter.

Although it’s unclear which record Melissa was specifically referring to, we can only assume she was celebrating the fact that Manifest stayed in the no. 1 spot on Netflix’s Top 10 Chart in the U.S. for 27 consecutive days. Days after NBC canceled the show, Netflix added the first two seasons of the drama to its platform and fans began rewatching the drama as a way to make a statement about its popularity.

That said, when season 3 of Virgin River premiered this past Saturday, it knocked Manifest down to the no. 2 spot, effectively ending its streak. According to TVLine, Manifest is now tied with Tiger King for having the second-longest run at no. 1. while Ginny & Georgia currently holds the overall record with 29 days. What’s more, Manifest is the only non-Netflix show to spend more than a week in this category.

After hearing the bittersweet news from Melissa, fans had mixed emotions. Some made it clear that they are still hoping Manifest will find a new home. “It can’t end like this! #itsallconnected #SaveManifest,” one person wrote. “We dont want it to end!!!!! #SaveManifest,” another added. “We love you queen and we won’t stop fighting to save the show! #savemanifest,” a different fan said.

Others simply thanked the NBC star for all of her hard work on the series. “Sorry this show was canceled. I'm really enjoying watching it. #SaveManifest I'm absolutely sure you and the others will find new projects to work in. Good luck!” a follower commented. "We LOVE the show and we LOVE you all. You did such a tremendous job portraying the characters we love. I truly believe you and the whole Manifest cast and crew DESERVE all the support you’re getting," another tweeted.

Originally, series creator Jeff Rake envisioned the show having a total of six seasons. Unfortunately, on June 21, Netflix opted out of ordering a season 4 of Manifest and Warner Bros. Television decided to stop shopping it around to another network or streaming platform, according to Deadline.

Previously, Melissa said that being a part of Manifest and having fans’ support “made the last three years the best years of [her] life.”
