Plumes of Smoke Billow From Dixie Fire in California
Large plumes of smoke billowed from the Dixie Fire in California as it expanded to over 30,000 acres (about 47 square miles) on July 19.
The fire was 15 percent contained on July 19, officials said.
Official reports said that the fire was burning in a remote and inaccessible location, making containment difficult for emergency services as it burned toward the northeast.
This timelapse footage shows the fire on July 18.
