Police Arrest Suspect in Five Shootings of Homeless Men in Washington and New York

Law enforcement arrested on Tuesday, March 15, a suspect in connection to two homicides and at least three additional shootings of homeless men in Washington, DC, and New York City.

In the early hours of Tuesday, the Washington police department tweeted the suspect had been arrested and was currently being interviewed by its homicide branch.

On Monday, Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser and the mayor of New York City, Eric Adams, had called on the public to help identify the suspect and appealed to vulnerable residents of each city to seek shelter. Bowser called the attacks “disturbing,” while Adams referred to the shootings as a “coldblooded attack.”

Prior to the arrest, both police departments released images and video of the suspect and appealed to the general public for any information related to the individual, with a reward of up to $70,000. Credit: NYPD via Storyful
