Ptarmigan Fire Smoke Fills Sky in Silverthorne, Colorado

The Ptarmigan Fire burning in Summit County, Colorado, grew to at least 83 acres by the afternoon on Tuesday, September 28, according to InciWeb.

This footage filmed by Instagram user @theandystratton shows plumes of smoke in the city of Silverthorne and aircraft circling the fire’s vicinity.

According to fire officials, 100 personnel have been battling the blaze. The US Forest Service expects the same air resources to remain on the fire on Wednesday, along with the arrival of additional hand crews, Summit Fire & EMS said. Credit: @theandystratton via Storyful
