San Diego Zoo Staff Bottle Feeds Baby Giraffe That Lost Mom
The San Diego Zoo is taking special care of one of its giraffe calves whose mother died earlier this month. Two-month-old Congo is bottle-fed three times a day while he’s with his herd, according to the zoo’s press release. The calf, born on June 22, was paired with a two-year-old giraffe named Leroy in a barn after being cared for at the park’s veterinary hospital. The two were re-released into the Safari Park on August 27.
