Storm Nicholas Knocks Down Carport in Southern Texas
Properties in Boling-Iago, Texas, were damaged by high winds and heavy rain as Hurricane Nicholas made landfall on Texas’s gulf coast with maximum sustained winds of 75 mph on September 14.
More than half a million power outages were recorded in Texas, including in the nearby town of Wharton, in the wake of the storm, according to poweroutage.us.
The National Hurricane Center warned of deadly storm surge, heavy rainfall, and life-threatening flooding in the upper Texas coast, Louisiana, southern Mississippi, and southern Alabama.
