Tornado Knocks Over Multiple Trees in Virginia, Including a 'Hundred-Year-Old' Elm

A possible tornado that blew through northern Virginia left significant damage in its wake, downing multiple trees across the area on Friday, February 7, local media reported.

The town of Leesburg suffered a number of damaged buildings as well as countless uprooted trees, some of which were blocking roads, local officials reported.

The National Weather Service declared a severe thunderstorm warning until 8 am on Friday. Winds were expected to reach up to 60 mph, the NWS said.
