Cabinet approves coal linkages through auction

Power and Coal minister on Wednesday said the Cabinet Committee of Economic affairs have decided that the coal linkages will now be given to the required sectors through auction. Goyal added that the Cabinet has decided to end the first-come-first-serve approach to bring more transparency in the system. He added that the auction method for coal linkages will be applicable to all the sectors, except fertilizers and power. He also stated that the linkages given to the Central public sector undertakings will continue and will be extended but have to go through auction if required more.
