El Nino Storms Bring Flooding to Southern California

Heavy rain and flooding hit southern California on Tuesday, January 5, as the first storm brought by the El Nino weather system moved into the area. A voluntary evacuation order was issued for the Silverado Canyon area of Orange County due to possible mudslides, while downed trees were reported in Los Angeles County.

The National Weather Service warned of severe weather throughout the week, with two more storms expected to reach the region on Wednesday and Thursday.
