Fire Breaks Out in Beijing's Dongcheng District
A fire broke out in an apartment building in Beijing’s Dongcheng district in the early morning of Tuesday, March 14.
The fire could be seen bursting from the fourth floor of the building and spilled plumes of smoke out above the surrounding neighborhood. According to reports from Morning Post and Sina News, eight fire squadrons and 27 fire engines were sent out to contain the blaze. The fire was spotted around 7:30 am and was subdued by 8:20 am, reports said.
The cause of the fire was unknown, but Morning Post noted that several of the buildings in the district are old, having been constructed in the 1950s and 1960s. Credit: weibo.com/onlymoffy via Storyful
