Flooding Hits French Polynesia
Heavy flooding hit Papeete, French Polynesia, on Sunday, January 22, prompting many residents to evacuate to higher ground.

Severe weather conditions were reported elsewhere on Tahiti and its neighboring island Moorea. At least three people were injured and more than 100 homes were destroyed, Reuters reported citing the French Polynesia High Commission.
