Mexico’s Colima volcano erupted on the morning of January 25, sending plumes of ash and smoke at least 2.5 miles high, according to Mexican news outlet La Jornada.
The eruption triggered falling ash warnings from Colima’s Civil Protection Agency, which also issued a five-mile exclusion zone surrounding the volcano. The agency shared a list of safety recommendations for local residents online.
