Multi-vehicle crash cleared from Bay Bridge

All three westbound lanes of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge were blocked for more than an hour Friday afternoon after several vehicles collided, the Maryland Transportation Authority said. Vehicles that were traveling eastbound on the westbound span were turned around, and westbound traffic approaching the scene was completely stopped through the 4 p.m. hour and later. At 5:18 p.m., MdTA said all lanes on the westbound span were reopened. Major delays were reported on U.S. Route 50 approaching the bridge.
