Protests in Melbourne March Against Closure of Aboriginal Communities

Demonstrations against the Australian government’s plan to close remote Aboriginal communities took place in Melbourne on March 13, with hundreds turning out to voice their anger at the proposal. The anger against the planned move was intensified by Prime Minister Tony Abbott’s comments that those who chose to live in remote communities were making a “lifestyle choice”.
