Space Station Crew Returns to Earth After Six Months in Orbit
After 186 days in orbit, the three-man crew of the International Space Station’s Expedition 47 returned on Earth on the morning of June 18. Astronauts Tim Peake of the European Space Agency (ESA), Tim Kopra of NASA, and Yuri Malenchenko of Roscosmos departed the station aboard a Soyuz capsule at 5:52am UTC and, with the help of mission controllers at NASA in Houston, Texas, landed in Kazahkstan at 9:15am UTC.
