New UN High Commissioner for Refugees Visits Zaatari Camp

The United Nations’ new High Commissioner for Refugees visited Zaatari refugee camp in Jordan on Monday, January 18. Filippo Grandi’s visit came three weeks after he took up the new role.

Grandi said it was time to focus international minds on solving the Syrian conflict. “It is essential that the international community and all actors that have an influence on the parties to the conflict – and the parties to the conflict themselves, first and foremost – exercise greater efforts towards peace,” he said.
