Wild Winds Batter Vanuatu as Cyclone Pam Intensifies
The Pacific island nation of Vanuatu prepared for the arrival of Tropical Cyclone Pam on Friday, March 13. The Category Five storm was forecast to directly hit Vanuatu, with wind gusts expected to reach 174mph (280kmh).
