WB Govt launches Black Bear Safari in Jalpaiguri

West Bengal Government on Thursday launched Black Bear safari in North Bengal's biggest wild animal park in Jalpaiguri, as a New Year gift to the people of the state. Two Himalayan black bears Dhubha and Jenifer are released into 20 hectare of fenced land and more three will be introduced very shortly. Visitors are amused with the new addition to the safari. Three more Himalayn Bears will be introduced soon from North-East region and there is a plan for Leopard Safari soon, said Binod Yadav, Member Secretary, West Bengal Zoo Authority.
