Wingstop stock jumps to record high amid Q4 earnings beat

The Yahoo Finance Live team discusses the jump in Wingstop's stock after reporting positive Q4 earnings.

- My play is Wingstop, WING a trending ticker on Yahoo Finance today after reporting strong Q4 earnings. Revenue increased 45%. Same store sales up more than 3.4%. And digital sales up a staggering 63%. The company reaffirmed its three to five year outlook of mid-single digit domestic same store sales growth. Wingstop opened 228 new restaurants in '22, including eight in New York City. And they plan to top that in 2023 to continue opening.

Their CEO Michael Skipworth saying in a release, "The combination of strong top line growth and meaningful deflation in our business has continued to strengthen our brand partners, unit economics, and position the brand for continued long-term growth." That deflation he's talking about is significant. Chicken wing prices are pre-pandemic levels after spiking.

You see the shares spiking as well up 8%. But that's not where we're taking the conversation. We're doing a little ad lib today. What is your favorite ticker symbol? Mine is WING and that's why I bring it up. W-I-N-G. You can't beat that. So I win this already. TAP is number two. Molson Coors, I love that when they reported yesterday.

- I also, this is an off the beaten path one, but I love Amazon AMZN. It just like flows off the tongue. Like I don't know, even when I first started covering stocks I was like, Amazon, I can picture that AMZN. It sounds how it looks. You know, I just like that ticker symbol.

- I'll give you one.

- It's kind of random.

- I'll give you a third that I think you'd like. They report today after the bell CAKE.

- Oh, yeah.

- And that is Cheesecake Factory.

- That was a good one too. I was trying to go like nontraditional, but--
