World's biggest Swiss flag unfurled for national day
STORY: The 6,400-square-meter (68,890-square-foot) banner featuring the white cross on a red field weighs around 700 kg (1,540 lb) and took 600 hours of work to make, the Heimgartner flag company said.
Sarah Boesch, the head of events and guests management for Saentis AG cable car operator, said the flag was unfurled on the Mount Saentis mountain side for the eighth time.
People gathered to watch and while bands played traditional Swiss music.
