Damaging Caldor Fire Spreads Rapidly South of Lake Tahoe

A huge plume of smoke billowed over El Dorado County, California, on August 29, as the Caldor Fire, burning south of Lake Tahoe, grew to 168,387 acres with 13 percent containment.

This footage was taken by an ALERTWildfire camera on Sunday.

Evacuations orders and warnings were in place in Amador, Alpine, and El Dorado counties.

Red flag warning were issued for affected areas for August 30-31.
