Electric vehicles: Porsche expects 80% of sales to be EVs by 2030

Yahoo Finance Live anchors discuss Porsche's plans to roll out electric vehicles.

JULIE HYMAN: One thing that we do know that's actually happening that we can talk about this morning, Porsche is having a presentation today. And it increased it's electric vehicle targets and also confirmed that future versions of some of its cars are indeed going to be all electric.

BRIAN SOZZI: Yeah. And this came at the-- still coming out from the Porsche annual meeting. So Porsche aims to have 50% of its vehicles electrified by 2025, with 80% of sales specifically battery electric by 2030.

Company's also looking to now build out its own charging station network. And then a real interesting one, this is starting to get a lot of attention out there on the internet, Julie, Porsche, its third electric vehicle will be a 718 sports car that will arrive in 2025. All-electric vehicle. I'm curious to see how hardcore Porsche fans respond to an all-electric vehicle lineup for this company. Because in large part, you're paying triple digits to hear that Porsche engine.

JULIE HYMAN: How many of us do you think we need to pool to get one of these things that we can share?

BRIAN SOZZI: Yeah. I would say a Porsche, at least for me, is out of my price range.
