Floodwater Rushes Into Parking Lot at Zion National Park

Roads and canyons at Utah’s Zion National Park were closed on June 29 after the area was hit by flash flooding.

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued multiple flash flood warnings for the park and surrounding areas.

The park authority reported a mudslide had cut off the SR-9, one of Zion’s access roads, which was closed in both directions for a period from Rockville to Springdale.
